Introduction
Gumball is a British-American animated television series created by Ben Bocquelet for Cartoon Network. The series revolves around the life of Gumball Watterson, a 12-year-old cat who attends middle school in Elmore. Accompanied by his friend and goldfish Darwin, he frequently finds himself involved in various mishaps around his hometown. Gumball has been met with generally positive reviews from television critics.
A film based on the franchise was first hinted at in an interview with show creator Ben Bocquelet in January 2018. When asked if he would consider making a Gumball movie, Bocquelet responded that he would “love to” but that it was ultimately up to Cartoon Network. In June 2018, it was announced that Warner Bros. Animation would be producing a Gumball feature-length film, which is set to be released on April 3, 2020.
The Rumors
There have been rumors that a movie featuring Gumball is in the works. These rumors began when an image was leaked online of what appears to be promotional material for the movie. The image shows Gumball and Darwin standing in front of a movie theater, with the words “Coming Soon” on the marquee.
The Possibilities
Even though a movie hasn’t been officially announced, there have been some strong hints that one may be in the works. In 2015, show creator Ben Bocquelet said that he would “love to do a Gumball movie one day.” He also said that he believed it would be possible to make a movie that would please both diehard fans of the show and those who had never seen it before.
In 2016, Bocquelet left the show to work on other projects, but he said that he would be open to returning for a Gumball movie. “Never say never,” he said. “I would love to come back and work on Gumball again if the stars aligned and it was the right thing to do.”
If a Gumball movie does get made, we can be sure that it will be full of the same irreverent humor and zany antics that we’ve come to love from the TV show.
The Benefits
There are a few benefits to chewing gum. Chewing gum can help improve your oral health by increasing saliva flow, which can help reduce plaque and bacteria in your mouth. Chewing gum can also help relieve stress and tension, and can be a healthy alternative to smoking.
The Drawbacks
While a Gumball movie would be exciting for many fans of the show, there are some drawbacks that should be considered. First and foremost, the movie would likely be geared towards a younger audience, which could alienate older fans of the show. Additionally, the movie could end up being too similar to the show itself, rather than offering something new and fresh.
The Characters
Gumball is the main character of the show and is depicted as a 12-year-old blue cat. He is lazy, yet enthusiastic, and tends to make poor decisions. Despite all this, Gumball has a good heart and is always willing to help those in need.
Darwin is Gumball’s closest friend. He was once Gumball’s pet fish, but after a freak accident involving a soda can, he grew legs and joined the Watterson family as their adopted son. He is sympathetic and very loyal to Gumball.
Anais Watterson is Gumball’s 4-year-old sister. She is intelligent beyond her years and often acts as the voice of reason for her brother and Darwin.
Richard Watterson is Gumball’s father. He is a stay-at-home dad who loves his family, but often drives them crazy with his bumbling antics.
Nicole Watterson is Gumball’s mother. She is a successful businesswoman who loves her family, but can be strict with them at times.
The Plot
It’s been a few years since we last saw Gumball and his friends on the big screen. So what’s the plot of this movie?
According to reports, the film will focus on Gumball’s teenage years. He will be voiced by Zac Efron in the film.
The film will be set in present day and will follow Gumball as he tries to find his place in the world. The official synopsis for the film is as follows:
“Gumball (voiced by Zac Efron) is a blue cat who has lost his way in life. After getting kicked out of school and running away from home, he finds himself living on the streets. But when he meets a mysterious cat named Darwin (voiced by Daniel Radcliffe), they embark on an epic journey that will change Gumball’s life forever.”
The movie is set to be released in 2020.
The Setting
The news of a third The Gumball Movie has been confirmed by Cartoon Network. Although a release date has not been set, production is currently underway. The network made the announcement via Twitter with a promotional image attached. As of now, not much else is known about the project.
The first two Gumball movies, The Disaster Movie and The Fantastic Four, were both released in 2017 and were direct-to-video films. Given the success of these films, it’s not surprising that Cartoon Network would decide to produce a third movie. It’s possible that the third movie will receive a theatrical release, but that has not been confirmed at this time.
The Gumball movies are based on the popular animated TV series The Amazing World of Gumball, which premiered on Cartoon Network in 2011. The show follows the adventures of Gumball Watterson, a blue cat, and his friends in the fictional town of Elmore.
The Conclusion
In the end, it seems that we will have to wait and see if a new Gumball movie is really in the works. For now, all we can do is hope that one day, our favorite blue cat will grace the big screen once again.
The Aftermath
Gumball is a blue cat who is a pet and student of the Watterson family. He attends Elmore Junior High with his adopted brother Darwin and his best friend Anais.
