In addition, the lobby underwent a complete transformation with new flooring, a redesigned concierge desk, and an updated check-in experience. Finally, the resort’s three pool areas were updated with new furniture, tile work, and landscaping.

The Good:

The Bad:
Unfortunately, not everything is perfect. One of the biggest complaints we’ve heard is that there are now only two outlets in each room. With all of the electronic devices we all travel with these days, this can be a real problem. Additionally, many guests have said that the new beds are very uncomfortable and that they miss the old, comfy beds that were in the rooms before.

The Ugly:
Finally, let’s talk about one of the most controversial aspects of the room refurbishment: The adorable paintings of Disney characters that used to adorn the walls have been replaced by generic artwork. While we understand why Disney made this change (the paintings were outdated and didn’t really fit with the new “look” of the rooms), we can’t help but feel a little bit sad about it. Those paintings were one of our favorite things about staying in an All Star Movies room!

It’s been a few months since the All Star Movies Resort at Walt Disney World completed its much-anticipated refurbishment, and we wanted to take a moment to share our thoughts on the newly refreshed resort.

Overall, we’re very impressed with the transformation that Disney has wrought on All Star Movies. The new lobby is bright and airy, with an updated color scheme that feels both fresh and modern. The check-in experience is now much more efficient, thanks to the addition of self-service kiosks. And we love the new quick-service restaurant, World Premier Food Court, which offers a wide variety of dining options (including some healthy choices) all in one convenient location.

The guest rooms at All Star Movies have also been updated, and they now feature more storage space, larger bathrooms, and new beds with built-in headboards that incorporate USB charging stations. We found the rooms to be comfortable and spacious – perfect for a family of four – and we appreciate the attention to detail that Disney has paid in the design of these updated accommodations.

The entire resort has been given a fresh coat of paint, new carpets and furniture have been installed in all of the guest rooms, and the lobby and public areas have been updated with new décor.

All Star Movies Refurbishment: Would We Stay Again?

In July 2017, we stayed at Disney’s All Star Movies Resort. We were pleasantly surprised with how nice the rooms were. We had a standard room with 2 queen size beds and a small table with 2 chairs. The room was clean and spacious enough for our needs. We did not have a view of the pool or any of the movie characters, but that didn’t bother us. We were happy with the room overall.

Now, in February 2018, we are wondering if the All Star Movies refurbishment is complete? And if it is, would we stay there again?

Apparently, the All Star Movies refurbishment is not yet complete. According to the Disney World website, “ Rooms at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort are currently undergoing refurbishment as part of an ongoing room improvement project that began in Fall 2017 and is expected to be completed by Early 2019. Please note that construction noise may be heard during your stay. “

So, if you are planning on staying at the All Star Movies Resort, be aware that construction noise may be an issue. As for us, we would not stay there again until the refurbishment is complete and we can be sure that we will not be bothered by construction noise.
